Editor’s note: We’re introducing a new column for you, boys and girls. It’s called Shh… and basically what we do is, we feature some of the most interesting people (read: sexy, smart, sassy, etc.) from Kuching. For the first edition, we’re kicking things off with a bang. On with the article!

How’s it going fellas? You see, we here at Shiok!, care about our readers. You asked for it, we listened, and we deliver. And since you perversely clicked on this article, we know what to give you, you sex biscuit. We love models don’t we? Those tall, slim and voluptuous babes and the dark and hunky men you kittens desire. But we like to be realistic too, that is why we have this column to feature REAL people, that girl or boy next door. No Hollywood smoke and mirrors, no rehearsals, no scripts, no bullsh*t.

For the first time, Cassandra Tan answered some of the most personal and raunchy questions while we fantasize about..we meant, listened to her every word. In tandem are some enticing photos for you to feast your eyes upon. Just promise us you’ll keep your hands in your pockets. Read on to see what went down..(pun intended)

Ethnicity?
Hungarian and Chinese.

Physical asset that is most interesting?
I really don’t know, but from what I’ve heard, my lips. Don’t ask me.

Who the hell is turned on by lips? Ok, what do you find in a man? Looks vs. personality?
Personality for the win. Must be easy going, and one who does not put his work in front of his girl. I’ve a little fetish for musicians. *winks* And most guys that I’ve dated before are musically-inclined, one way or another.

We know it is random, but in conjunction with the Twilight hype, would you be a vampire, and if you were, who would you bite to survive?
It would be cool, but I do not dig the immortally thing. I would bite…anyone who is willing. Anyone close to me i guess, because I’ll try not to kill them and transform them. I don’t bite strangers. I am referring to the REAL, original vampire. Not the twilight thing. That’s all twisted, I’m sorry, but vampires are twisted in that movie.

Alright, you know your blood-suckers well. If you are out one night in a club or just chilling, how many times, on average, do you get hit on?
It depends. Probably 10 to 15 times on a “good” night. But on average, it’s around 6 to 8 I guess.

Damn! Why can’t we get hit on that many times? (note: Author is 5’5″ and kissing him would equate to carpet muffing) Anyway, do you reciprocate to them?
If it’s my friends’ friend, I’d probably smile to talk a while. But if I don’t know him and if he acts like a total sleaze, I’d just walk off.

That’s painful. How to do you gently reject somebody?
Depends, if they are trying to ask me out or are they trying to get my number.

Assume a stranger is asking for your number?
If I really don’t like him, I’d tell him to piss off. But I’d really say “Sorry, but f*** off. But if he’s a friends friend, I’d be polite and sweet but I’d tell him i’m taken. But if they start on the right foot…*winks*

Okay, we better pull the big questions out. a)Make-out the entire night, b) foreplay or sex, for the entire night? or c) cuddle till dawn?

I’d like a mix of a and c. Its more entertaining that way, and going straight to sex with be a little too forward don’t you think. :) Although a mix or a sequence would be great, but I’d pick a and c for now.

What a tease Cassie. Favorite position?
Whoa, isn’t that a little personal? I hope my parents don’t read this. Shiok! will be in a lot of trouble. Depends on the mood. Really. Just not ‘backdoor’, you know what I mean. Fine, I’d pick a mix between a scissor a backward cowgirl.

What the hell? We won’t even ask how’s that possible. What do you think about one-night stands?
No! Like i said, i’d never hook up with anyone I don’t know. And if a it’s a friend, we’d hook up, and I’ll make sure it’s longer than one night.

What? Multi-night stands?
NO! What I meant was something special! You guys! They usually turn into boyfriends. That is, if they are really attractive and special. ;)

Favourite outfit in the bedroom? Sleep naked, clothed or semi-clothed?
If its cold, comfortable baggy t-shirt and undies. If its nice and warm, just naked.

Underwear of choice.
Victoria secret, best brand ever. A hipster is my all-time fancy. Not wearing right now though. And why not? ‘Cause i aint wearing a dress for it. And it’s not like any of you are going to see it. *winks*

Three men left in the world. Midget, fat hairy man, Morgan Then (Morgan Then gave his consent to use his name in the interview, although we never told him what for). Who would you hook up with to ensure the survival of human race?
I don’t hook up with anybody I don’t know. So I would say Morgan. Just because I know him. And nothing else. Assuming you know all three? Definitely not fat hairy man. But i’d consider between a midget or Morgan Then.

Boxers of briefs on men?
Boxers. Because it has less problems going on, down under. (What a good way to put it, any complications taking off briefs?) No, some guys just have more issues down there when they are wearing more briefs. Less air to breath, I guess? haha!

Lamest pick up line, ever used on you?
There’s so many it’s hard to think of the ultimate. Well the cheesiest line that a guy had ever used on me was….”oh my god, are you a model, have I seen you on a magazine? You look really familiar”.

So that doesn’t work?
No.

Are you a model? ;)
Guys…it doesn’t work.

Ok fine, ever thought about modeling?
Yea of course. Anything that has to do with modeling, I’d be up for it.

Aaaaanything?
Gah! You guys! Not porn!

We know that, we’re not nymphomaniacs…right? Ok, Shiok! thinks geeks are hot. So your geekiest characteristics?
I read a lot. Uh, usually fiction books. To be specific, Mercedes Lackey and Piers Anthony.

Which part of the body are you most turned on, when touched?
Umm..Kissinng the back of the neck and the shoulders. Basically caressing.

Duly noted. Biggest fantasy?
Traveling around the world? I’m not dirty like you guys at Shiok!. :) Every place. Every country and each part of the country.

Biggest sexual fantasy?
Oh darn, you got me. I don’t have one. I just never had one, never ever thought about it. It’s always been fulfilling. Physically and emotionally. Always willing to try new things to spice up the relationship, although trying it overstating it, it just happens without even trying to, really.

Handcuffs or whips?
Handcuffs. Whips are fine but handcuffs are more interesting. It teases like hell and he can’t do a thing.

Tell our male readers, what’s your best way to attract a girl’s attention?
For me, try to be friends first. And it depends how you are as a friend. But if you are close enough and not too close like a gay friend or in the “friend zone”, it would work. Just don’t get too close until I am afraid to lose you as a friend, like “the gay best friend”, again as I mentioned. Just be yourself I guess, because if a guy acts differently just to attract you, they will revert back to their original somewhere down the journey, and it will be ugly eh?

Final one, tell us and our readers on thing that MANY people don’t know about you.
I’m not a bitch like many people think. And people can easily approach me, of course, without a pick up line, and don’t try to hit on me. Even if they do, make it natural and don’t push for it. Please don’t take note for yes. SO many guys do that, but it’s not true.

Guess what? We’ve ran out of questions. Thank you so much for the wonderful interview, Cass.
My pleasure.

So that’s it guys. That’s pretty much everything you nee- sorry, want to know about Cass. Watch out for Shiok! scouts when you’re in clubs or even at a restaurant for dinner. We might just feature you in this column. Cheers!

The 13th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) or Rainfest as the locals call it ended on a high note last Sunday. Various acts from various countries gathered for three days to show their love for music. After numerous hours of workshops and performances, attendees left the Sarawak Cultural Village feeling closer to their primal roots more than ever.

For some, RWMF has been part of their lives since it started 13 years ago. Every year, they would come back for this festival. To them, this annual pilgrimage is more than just about listening to music and getting wasted while doing it, it is also about creating bonds between each other.

The lineup this year was amazing as usual. Watussi, Musafir Gypsies of Rajasthan, Debu, Bakih and Farafina were some of the major acts who rocked the crowd over the three nights. These musicians come from different backgrounds, weaving a plethora of melodious tunes, ensuring that the crowd would be entertained before, during as well as after the festival.

Aside from the nightly performances, as usual, there are also workshops scattered around SCV. Each workshop lasts about 45 minutes, and if you want to know more about the unique instruments used during a certain performance, these workshops are definitely for you. Choose one of the many workshops, learn a few things and make some friends while you’re at it.

This will not be RWMF’s final year, so if you haven’t had the chance to see it – even after 13 years – start saving up for your trip next year. It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of world music, or someone who’s just looking to make new friends, attending this festival is definitely something you should put in your To-Do list.

If you’ve been to RWMF, tell us about your experience! We’d love to hear from you. No, we really do. Let the music rock your world!

Have you ever been popped by and sprayed with bottles of champagnes under the glittering disco ball? I must admit that you are one lucky raver if that happened on you. Here we go again!

This year’s Labour Day, EUPHORIA by Ministry of Sound, Malaysia presented the Kid Millionaire, DJ Steve Aoki LIVE in Sunway city with a packed number of 2000 fans! Known for his all-time favorite “Warp 1977″ featuring The Bloody Beetroots and Bomberman, the founder of Dim Mak Records injected our night with that electrifying number, accompanied by the signature “woop woop” chant by his fans.

The night kicked off as Steve Aoki played his dip dive mix version of Douster’s King of Africa.

For the first time, I was insanely pumped with a continuous 3 hours of pure electro house music, proudly spun by the electro god himself. You got to be there to experience such ecstasy yourself! The night was so tensed, the crowds were ‘uncaged’ as Aoki started electro dancing on the DJ deck and sprayed bottles after bottles of champagnes. We’re officially wet! Oh, trust me.

I am definitely In the House! The erotic beats producer a.k.a Asian Jesus Christ also played his newly released track, “I’m In The House”, a collaboration with Zuper Blahq—alter-ego of Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. But the best part came in when he bassed up his unreleased production, “What A Night” by Lil Jon featuring Claude Kelly, for the very first time, in Malaysian ground itself. Proud much?

As unpredictable as his mixing techniques, he ended our raving session by diving onto his fans on the dance floor, surprisingly in a mini inflatable splasher! We had our share of Steve Aoki. What can I say. The electro music scene is totally redefined by this Miami-born electro house maestro. All thumbs up for Aoki!

Without fail, the Dim Mak Collection clothing line also made its wave here at the entrance of EUPHORIA, each priced at RM60 – genuine apparels from the States. Apparently, the Dim Mak sunglass line, shoes, and headphones were not available.

Last but not least, stay tuned to Shiok! on the full coverage of MTV World Stage 2010 LIVE at Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia, on 31st July 2010. Watch out for the lineup!

Teams which a favoured seem to have the upper hand at the moment. Here, I’d talk about chances and strength of each up-coming quarter final matches.

GERMANY – ARGENTINA

The match of the quarter finals. There is no other match bigger than this one. With Germany displaying great counter attacks, and Argentina showing off to the world how classy they are, everyone, down to the bookies are divided about who will progress. Some have excluded Brazil out of the equation, and claimed that who ever wins this match will win the Wolrd Cup. Anyway, the German side is a very formidable side. Their main strength lies in their speed and magnificent team work with an the spirit of always moving forward despite leading. However, they look a little shaky behind, and I believe that the team is too dependent on Klose. On the other hand, Argentina has the ability to spring surprises with the likes of Messi and Tevez leading the way. Their defense is among the hardest to penetrate, while their midfield sparks creativity where it’s due. On the negative side, Argentina tend to be complacent and over confident, hence resulting them to outplay themselves.

Prediction: Despite the Octopus pick, I believe Argentina will go through after extra time.

URUGUAY – GHANA

Match of the underdogs, but we are sure Uruguay are the favorites with Diego Forlan leading the charge. Uruguay have been lucky all the way, but they must not under-estimate the Black Stars of Africa which come in the form of Ghana. Ghana has proved to many that they are a hardworking side, and that they will stop at nothing to win. With the African continent hugely behind them, I expect a very balance match, with both sides looking to score goals. Nonetheless, I also expect Ghana to be overwhelmed with the support, and hence my prediction of Uruguay to progress.

Prediction: Uruguay to win 2-1 in full time.

BRAZIL – HOLLAND

An interesting match up. Brazil showed that they are already ‘there’ by displaying the best game ever in the second round. However, their opponent will not be easy with likes of Robben, Van De Vaart, and Sneijer. I believe this match will be won in the 90 minutes as Brazil tend to showcase their best when facing huge opponents such as Holland. Holland have won all their group matches, but look very unconvincing in almost all. They seem to be having problems at the back, and with likes of Luis Fabiano on rampage, and the availability of Kaka, Brazil stands a very good chance to progress. With that said, I believe the samba kings will continue their progress, leaving the Dutch to face yet another disappointing World Cup campaign.

Prediction: Brazil 2-0 Holland

SPAIN – PARAGUAY

It may seem like a one sided match, but Spain a major underachievers in the World Cup. They are the only team which has a number 1 ranking in the world yet to win the World Cup, and I suspect this has a lot to do with how Spain players play during the World Cup. On the other hand, Paraguay are considered huge under dogs in this game, and they are relishing the prospect to spring some surprises. However, if the game with Japan was taken into consideration, Paraguay do have a mammoth task ahead as Spain’s attacking force are boastful of stars which are relishing for the moment to shine. Taking into Paraguay’s lucky win over Japan, I expect the Spaniards to progress further with a close win.

Prediction: Spain 1-0

With a legendary player as their coach, Argentina is a team built by starts. Lionel Messi and Tevez are two key elements to the success of this Argentine team, while I believe Diego Maradona has been a good motivator to bring the team forward for more glory. With that said, I believe that Argentina will outplay Mexico if they play to their full potential, but then again, Argentina’s biggest threat comes from themselves as they somehow lack urgency to win.

SHiOK’s prediction: Argentina 2-0 Mexico

Germany started the whole World Cup by trashing Australia, and they have since then become a huge choice of winning the World Cup. They seem to have a balance in every department with their strike force being an envy of many with the likes of Klose and Podolski. Nonetheless, Germany tend to be over dependent on high balls to get a goal, and this may be cut off by England easily. Nonetheless, I believe Germany do come down as the favorites in this match as they appear to be more spirited than their English opponents.

My final prediction: Germany 2-0 England

In the final group game against Algeria, things were beginning to look very grim for Bob Bradley’s side but an injury-time goal from Landon Donovan prevented an early elimination.

That late goal was not only enough for the US to qualify for the second round, but it also took them to the top spot in their group and allows them to avoid Germany in their next game.

The US have no injury worries but are without Robbie Findley, who is suspended after collecting two yellow cards in the previous games. Jay DeMerit, Steven Cherundolo, Jozy Altidore and DaMarcus Beasley would all miss a potential quarter final if they are booked against Ghana.

Ghana only scored two goals in the group phase – and condeded the same amount – but it was good enough for the side to be the only African team to make it to the round of sixteen.

After the 1-0 win over Serbia, Ghana were held to a surprising 1-1 draw by Australia. But even after losing the final group game 1-0 to Germany, the Ghanaians had still done well enough to finish in second place in Group D.

Isaac Vorsah is out injured but Ghana have no one suspended. Prince Tagoe, Jonathan Mensah, Lee Addy, Anthony Annan and Andrew Ayew are all just one yellow card away from suspension.

These two sides also met in the group phase of the 2006 World Cup, Ghana winning that encounter 2-1. That result was good enough for the Africans to advance from the group phase, while it left the Americans eliminated. As such, the US have something to settle when they meet again this Saturday.

This round of sixteen encounter will take place at Phokeng’s Royal Bafokeng Stadium with kick-off at 20:30 (8:30 pm) local time. The referee appointed for this game is Hungarian Viktor Kassai.

The Uruguayans went through their group on seven points with wins over South Africa and Mexico and a draw against hapless France, who finished bottom of the group.

The Koreans got a victory over Greece in their opener before falling in a tough match to Argentina. They recovered nicely for a draw against Nigeria that was enough to see them through to only their second knockout phase.

Uruguay coach Óscar Tabárez, who led them to this same point as coach in 1990, is unlikely to make any changes to the squads that have gotten him here.

There is a slight knock to defender Diego Godín, but it is not remotely expected to see him miss out on the game.

Uruguay also have no suspensions to concern themselves with, and all other yellow cards have now been wiped out.

Korea Republic coach Huh Jung-Moo is in a similar situation to Tabárez in that he is expected to go with the XI that got him here against Greece and Nigeria in particular.

Lee Dong-Gook picked up a slight knock recently, but he is expected to start up front for the Koreans.
